Bernard J. Grzelak

Bernard J. (Bernie) Grzelak is Chief Financial Officer and oversees all aspects of Dimensional’s finance and accounting functions, both at the firm and fund level. Based in Austin, Bernie sits on Dimensional’s Operating Forum and contributes to the firm’s strategic and operating decisions. He serves as a department head with responsibility for developing and leading a global team across all finance functions, including accounting; tax; treasury; financial planning and analysis; procurement; and reporting and controls. Bernie is also the financial and operations principal of DFA Securities LLC.

He has over 25 years of experience in finance, fund administration, and investment operations within the asset management industry. Prior to joining Dimensional in 2020, Bernie was a partner at asset manager Lord, Abbett & Co. and served as chief operating officer for global funds and risk. In this role, he worked closely with the boards of the Lord Abbett Family of Funds (US Mutual Funds) and Lord Abbett Passport Portfolios (Ireland-domiciled UCITS). Bernie also served as chief financial officer and treasurer of the Lord Abbett Family of Funds as well as on the Enterprise Risk Management Committee. Bernie joined Lord Abbett in 2003 as the director of fund administration. His prior experience included serving as vice president at Lazard Asset Management LLC and treasurer of The Lazard Funds and audit manager at Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Bernie has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from the University of Notre Dame.
